San Diego has the resources to become a leader in the green economy. We have great universities and a thriving biotech community on the Torrey Pines Mesa and beyond.
ReplyDeleteWe need our leaders to advocate for Federal Stimulus funds, which our region deserves, since San Diego is a clear leader in this field and our work will benefit the nation at large. For leaders to step up, they need to see that this is going to create good white collar and blue collar jobs, improving the quality of life for San Diegans.
The only threat I see would be our leaders getting distracted by everyday concerns, like budgetary problems and social matters. Green technology development is important, but it is also new, so we as citizens need to make it clear that this is important to us.
